Despite what many may think I am a "professional" artist. (been published, had shows and everything) I attended WVU where I majored in Lithography. After that I went on to Shepherd University to major in painting. My medium of choice at the moment is collage, both digital and traditional cut and paste.
I may have a different opinion as to what "art" is and I have a twisted sense of humor to boot. When creating "art" I like to combine the two producing social commentary on pop culture, politics, organized religion and the things that I like.
(Twisted Combo for sure)
I have never been one to "stay in line." I was listening to Sugarhill Gang when they first came out, then Black Flag and all the other classics back in the early 80's,was (and still am at heart) a skater
and have always been a bit of a "conspiracy buff." Point is, I'm just a country boy from a small town in West Virginia, where I never fit in. So I never really expected to fit in "out there" in the world, either and still don't.
As for my what my work is about.... it is about Life and what goes on around us. it is about ourselves and what we feel or think about when we sleep, eat and play. It is about the time I hurt my back and was and am disabled from it. It is about that funny ass pop singer that gets married for the publicity and the little fat girl that mommy "pimps" out for profit. It is about the crooked politician that poisons us all for another 4 years in office. It is about Sad Pee Pee and Thor fighting RAGNACOCK. It is about me fucking with you and making you think I am saying something. It is about time that
I make some more art and let you decide for yourselves ... whether I am an "artist" or a "hack," whether I have something to say or not, whether you like it or not, whether you "get it" or not and most importantly.... whether it speaks to you or not. And if my work does speak to you, what does it say? I don't know what you or others may or may not think but one thing I do know from experience......My work gets people talking. Negative or positive, talking about "ART" is always a good thing. Gets you thinking. And that right there folks, IS the reason I make "ART."
if you are in need of a layout artist or graphic designer, I'm your man. Also available for commissioned work. will do CD covers, Book covers, etc. just drop me a line.
and
You can download anything you want from me. That's why I don't water mark. As long as someone isn't selling my work for profit without giving me a cut, I honestly don't care. If you are interested in Prints signed direct from myself, simply message me. I have a printmaking service that I can use for that. No problem. Pretty damn cheap too.

"Have you ever eaten a really rich dessert on top of a couple drinks and then gone to bed only to toss and turn and imagine yourself running endlessly and helplessly from some terrible menacing shadowy entity that never quite catches you but is always right behind you? Such is the collage work of Keyser, West Virginia's Nunzio Barbera --- depicting the over-analyzed depths of a Freudian nightmare. Each work is a cohesive melange of horror, science fiction and popular culture merged into a representation of more messages than you can find on a teenager's iPhone.
"What the hell is he saying?" will be the first thought in your mind, followed by a careful study of the images within the other images. Joe Pesci once said in the move JFK, "It is a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma." This perfectly describes Nunzio's work. It is "A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" meets "Creep Show" and "Mad" magazine. Nunzio combines irreligious, brash, funny, creepy hand-drawn elements and clippings from magazines of all eras, layering them by hand (not Photoshop, people!) onto a variety of materials. The result is pop art entertainment at its finest."
